+How do I register and pay?
It’s easy. All payments go through Wetravel, a secure platform we use for managing trips. To sign up for a trip, simply click on the “Book Now” button located next to each trip description and pay a deposit to secure your spot. Once we have received the deposit, we will send you a confirmation note and information about the trip. As the departure date approaches, you’ll receive additional updates about your trip, including a packing list.
Full payment for your trip is required 45 days prior to the start date. For bookings made within 45 days of the trip start date, full payment will be due upon confirmation

+What are your cancellation and refund policies?
We understand that emergencies do occur and may cause you to cancel your reservation.
No exceptions will be granted to our Cancellation Policy.
The initial deposit to hold your spot on a trip is NON-REFUNDABLE.
Refund amounts are determined as follows:
120+ days before trip: Full refund minus non-refundable deposit
120–90 days before trip: 50% of balance minus non-refundable deposit
90 days or fewer before trip: No refund
Bold Spirit LLC will incur expenses preparing for your participation in our trips and for this reason, we have a firm cancellation policy. Trust that we know most travelers cancel their reservations out of necessity.
Insurance is strongly recommended for your Bold Spirit trip. We highly recommend that you obtain adequate coverage for cancellation, curtailment, and loss of luggage and personal effects. Your deposit and final trip balance can then be recovered via a claim to your insurance provider in the event that you must cancel your adventure due to unforeseen circumstances. No refunds are issued 90 days or fewer from departure.

We do not issue refunds for any unused portion of your trip (for example: leaving the trip early, arriving late, etc.).
Trip fees may be transferred from one person to another. However, Bold Spirit Travel LLC must determine that the other person is in the proper physical condition to participate.
We reserve the right to cancel trips because of low enrollment numbers or any other causes. It’s unlikely, but if this happens, all money paid to Bold Spirit Travel LLC will be fully refunded to travelers, including the non-refundable deposit. If a tour is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified at least 45 days in advance.
Bold Spirit Travel LLC is not responsible for any personal expenses, such as airline tickets purchased due to changes in itineraries or tour cancellations. For this reason, we strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance to cover additional costs (airline tickets, loss of luggage, trip delay or tour cancellation, personal accident, medical evacuation, etc.).
Bold Spirit Travel LLC reserves the option to modify trip itineraries at the discretion of the trip facilitator.
+What’s the group travel dynamic like?
Women on our trips have adventurous spirits and enjoy the company of other women. Bold Spirit Travel draws women from a variety of cultures, backgrounds, lifestyles, and ages. Some of our guests are first-time travelers while others have traveled extensively.
You’ll be traveling with your crew of Bold Spirit sisters for the entire trip, as well as your English-speaking facilitator and a few local guides. You’ll get to know the adventurous women who are on the journey with you while creating connections and friendships. You will also have alone time planned into the itinerary, so don’t feel that you have to be with the group 24/7. There is room for introverts to recharge. You can participate in as many or as few of our planned activities as you choose.
Don’t be a Debby Downer. Negative attitudes are not part of the Bold Spirit Travel experience. Come with an open-mind and positive vibrations. There are women of all ages on Bold Spirit Travel journeys. All Bold Spirits 16 and up are welcome; however, women under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
The women on each trip will vary. Expect a mix of solo travelers, friends, family combos, single, divorced, married, and widowed women. We welcome all women regardless of race, creed, or sexual preference. All those who identify as women are welcome.
+Am I fit enough for the trip?
All our trips require quite a bit of walking. Each journey falls into one of the following exertion categories: Moderate, Energetic, or Challenging. Check and make sure the trip you’re taking is the right exertion category for you.
Moderate: Expect to walk quite a bit with your local guides, mostly over flat surfaces and through city streets. Some trips include horseback riding or bicycling with a traditional or electric bike, but participation in the bicycle or horseback tours is always optional.
Energetic: Most of our adventure experiences fall into this category. Expect a multi-sport trip with kayaking, bicycling, hiking, walking, and swimming.
Challenging: Some of our backpacking and multi-day hiking, kayaking, or cycling trips fall into this category. These are for women who exercise regularly and have trained for the trip for at least a month in advance.
+Can I come alone?
Yep! It’s bold to try something new alone, and we encourage you to do so. If you’re a solo traveler we will pair you with a roommate throughout your journey.
Don’t want to share? No worries. We can arrange a private upgrade for an additional fee. If you come with a buddy, we will arrange for you to stay in the same room throughout the trip—just let us know who she is.
+Do I need travelers insurance?
Yes. We recommend that you purchase travel insurance before any Bold Spirit Travel trip. Life happens, and we want you to be protected in case of trip interruption, cancellation, lost/delayed luggage, medical expenses, and more. Getting insurance is easy and inexpensive. We recommend purchasing with one of the following companies:

+Do I need a passport and/or visa?
Most of our destinations do not require a visa for US, Canadian, or Australian travelers. If you’re unsure if you will need a visa or not, get in touch with us and we’ll figure it out together. You do need to have a valid passport, so make sure yours is up to date. If you only have six months left on your passport, you will want to renew it before traveling.

+What should I pack?
We take the mystery out of packing. Once you’ve paid the deposit for your trip, we’ll send you a detailed packing list so you can begin to plan your suitcase space.
+I have dietary restrictions - can I still come??
With advance notice, we can accommodate most dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten intolerant. To be on the safe side, you should bring some snacks in your suitcase to supplement what is on the menu and be open to the fact that you may have less variety than you are used to at home.

Bold Spirit Travel is a woman-owned tour company offering women-only adventures and retreats. Our trip facilitators are women professional guides. Whenever possible, we stay in women-owned hotels, dine in women-owned eateries, collaborate with women guides, and purchase from women-owned suppliers. A talented woman designed our branding and built our website. We know the powerful results women can create when they work together and support each other.
We also give back by donating to Girls Inc., an organization helping to educate the next generation of bold women leaders and adventurers.

Absolutely! Any of our listed trips can be booked as a private experience. Plus, we offer custom trips—designed just for you and your crew—all over the world. Private trips can be women-only or multi-gender. If there is a Bold Spirit man in your life, this is your chance to bring him along. We also offer luxury journeys.

+What does responsilbe travel mean?
Sustainability and education are important at Bold Spirit Travel. We donate to See Turtles and Girls Inc. because we believe in the work they are doing to make our planet healthier and our girls better prepared for the future.
On our tours, we strive to work with hotels and local businesses with eco-friendly options. Our travelers are encouraged to bring their own water bottles, and in some cases their own filtration devices, in order to reduce plastic waste associated with travel. Reusable cutlery for in-flight meals and non-plastic straws also cut travel waste.

The customer and website visitor information we collect is not sold or redistributed to any other companies or outside parties. Our site makes use of various forms. When you submit your email address through a form, your email address is added to our company newsletter email list.
