“I want to travel, but it’s so hard to get anyone to come with me!” Women-only, small-group journeys
As the founder of a travel company offering women-only trips and tours, I hear this one a lot.
“I want to travel, but it’s so hard to get anyone to come with me!”
Does this sound familiar?
You may be Ms. Popular in your hometown, with plenty of social engagements and women friends who want to meet up for coffee, walks, pickle ball, dinner, or a mani-pedi.
But when it comes to getting on an international flight and flying to Costa Rica? How many of your friends are really going to come with you? I mean, really?
And how about this one: You wait and wait, postponing adventure because Sarah [insert your friend’s name here] says she is getting her passport and next year you’ll make your girls’ trip happen. It’s going to be EPIC.
The months pass…Sarah does not get a passport, and you do not get to go to Iceland.
Eventually, you do one of the following:
Give up on going on that big trip and just stay home doing some easy domestic trips to places you know and love.
Stop waiting around for a friend and just go solo.
The former keeps you safe and allows you to stay in your comfort zone.
The latter asks you to be bold and, possibly, a little uncomfortable for a while.
We all know this is where growth and magic happen—in those uncomfortable moments that you move through and come out of with a new perspective.
Sure, it would be fun to go with Sarah if she ever gets her act together, but your time is now.
Carpe diem, baby.
Here’s the good news: There are so many other women like you who are tired of waiting for Sarah/spouse/sister/neighbor/best friend and are ready to get on the airplane all alone.
We are waiting for you on the other side of that flight.
How the Bold Spirit Team Makes Sure You’re Not Alone for Long
Before the adventure even starts, we connect you with the other women on your trip through both an online meeting and a private WhatsApp group. Put a face with a name and introduce yourself.
Our team connects women who are on similar flights or coming a day early. For example, you choose to fly into Iceland the day before our March 10-16 trip, and Julie does too. In this case, we put you in touch so you can meet up if you feel like it, check out the Blue Lagoon, or go to dinner.
On Day 1 of any tour, we hold Orientation, and you get to meet the other women on the trip face-to-face. This is an organized event hosted by our tour leaders, not a freeform networking thing.
Group dinners and lunches are held throughout the tour. Sit next to someone different each day and get to know all the women on the trip.
We also offer roommate matching for solo travelers, meaning if you and another solo traveler both want to share a room and save some money, we will pair the two of you together. It’s a great way to make a friend.
My team and I go out of our way to make sure you feel like you belong to this mighty group of travelers during the time we spend together. You will also have downtime too (introverts, do not worry!).
The thing about stepping away from your circle of friends and joining a group of solo female travelers is that you are likely to make some new buddies while on the tour. These adventurous women want to travel. They have the passport. They are eager to see more of the world.
You can tell Sarah all about it when you get home and meet for drinks. Maybe next time, she comes with you. Maybe not. It will no longer matter; you have found your adventure crew.
Expand your horizons and your friend group when you decide to stop waiting and just go alone.
You will not be alone for long.
